Yes! The U.S. recommended daily intake of sodium is 2,300 mg / day or less (approximately one teaspoon of salt), and certain populations at risk of heart disease are recommended to keep their intake to less than 1,500 mg / day.
Our meals contain very little added salt for this reason and generally meet this cumulative 1,500 mg / day guideline. So while we keep everything low sodium, if you’d like to sprinkle a touch of salt to your own meal to taste, go right on ahead (but remember to try it first!).
